OpenBCI and Pupil Labs Launch All-in-One Brain, Body, and Eye Tracking Headset
October 1, 2025
OpenBCI and Pupil Labs announced a partnership to create the first fully wireless, all-in-one brain, body, and eye tracking headset. The device combines OpenBCI's Galea biosensing platform (EEG, EOG, EMG, EDA, PPG) with Pupil Labs' Neon eye-tracking module, creating a unified research tool with perfect time synchronization.
The Galea Neon headset extends neurotechnology research beyond VR/XR into real-world contexts, with all sensor data available in real time through Galea's software tools. The product won the Auggie Award for Best Interaction Product and began shipping to customers in late 2025.
Founded by Conor Russomanno, OpenBCI has been a pioneer in open-source neurotechnology since its original Kickstarter campaign in 2013, which raised over $215,000 from 947 backers.
